March Employee of the Month
Congratulations to Sharon Smith, Records Assistant, for the West Virginia University at Parkersburg’s Records and Admissions Office. Sharon has been selected as Employee of the Month for March.
Sharon has worked as Records Assistant and currently Admissions Assistant since April, 1998. She received her Associate Degree from Washington State Community College and is pursuing a Regents Bachelor of Arts from WVU Parkersburg.
Sharon has been an active member on many committee’s at WVU Parkersburg. Most recently, she has served on the Relay for Life team and is a mentor for the newly formed mentoring project.
Sharon lives in Bartlett, Ohio with her husband Robert. She has three children: Brian (Marylou) in Bridgeport, WV, Shawanda (Jim) Harper in Bartlett, Ohio and Branda (Mark) Lencioni in Powell, Ohio. She has four beautiful grandchildren Leightyn, Alden, Marah and Garrett. She also feels very fortunate to have her father and grandmother living near.
In her free time, Sharon likes to pitch horseshoes, play bingo and work in her flower garden, but notes that her grandchildren are her life.
Sharon expressed her gratitude for being selected Employee of the Month and added “I would like to thank whomever nominated me for this honor and I will do my best to continue to be the person that prompted them to nominate me.”
