Interdisciplinary Conversations

Humanities Division faculty Martha McGovern and Sandra  Kolankiewicz are in the process of organizing and facilitating  a new Engagement Hour initiative:  monthly Interdisciplinary Conversations.

The proposal involves reserving Engagement Hour on the 2nd Monday of each month for faculty and staff to come together from the various disciplines and arenas over a brown bag lunch. Refreshments will be provided via the Executive Dean's office.

The intent is that each month a particular Division will present "cutting edge" ideas or knowledge, hot button issues or whatever the Division would like to share.

On Sept 8,  the Education Division will kick off the conversations with a presentation on 21st Century Learning Skills.

On Oct 13, Chase Brady from Math will talk about the numbers of voting and what they mean.

The Humanities Division is hoping that people will come forward to share their creativity in the form of song, poetry, fiction, memoir or other non fiction, dance--any kind of creative expression. The date for that program is January 12.

Also, dates still available include February 9, March 9, and April 13.
