Employee of the Month for September

Vicki Yencha

Congratulations to Vicki Yencha, , who has been selected as Employee of the Month for September!

Vicki has been a member of the WVU Parkersburg Business Office staff since October, 1999.  She has served as a representative on Staff Council, the Social Justice Committee, Appalachian Heritage Days, the American Sampler, chaired the Christmas luncheon, and is a team member of the WVU Parkersburg Relay for Life.

Vicki is a graduate of Parkersburg Community College with an Associate in Applied Science Degree.

Vicki and her husband Tom (WVU Parkersburg’s Director of Student Activities) live in Parkersburg.  They have two daughters, Moriah, 15, a sophomore at Parkersburg Catholic and Bethany, 21, grandson Dre, 6 months, 7 cats and 2 dogs.

In her spare time Vicki loves to garden, read, crafts of all kinds and painting.  Finishing their house is her biggest hobby right now.

Following is an excerpt from the nominations that served as the basis for Vicki’s selection as Employee of the Month:

“Vickie is one of the college's unsung heroes.  For the most part her work goes unnoticed, she is located back in the dark, hot recesses of the college and in fact her job is one nobody enjoys - paying the bills.  But, let someone's travel reimbursement be a little late - then everyone knows who she is.  I have seen reimbursement time go from 1 month - if lucky, to about a week now.   Vickie has worked hard to speed these processes up and to ensure our paperwork is done in a timely manner and our money gets back to us quickly or that the bills get paid on time. I feel she deserves our thanks and recognition for a job well done.”

The Employee of the Month program is sponsored by the WVU Parkersburg Staff Council.
Nominations may be submitted to Karen Branham in accordance with the guidelines established by Staff Council.
