Greetings from Azerbaijan
(Editor's Note: Dr. Sy Sarkarat, economics professor, is spending the fall semester as a guest lecturer in the former Soviet Republic of Azerbaijan. Dr. Sy Sarkarat has been awarded a Fulbright Scholar grant to teach at Azerbaijan State Economic University. The Azerbaijan institution is located in the capital city of Baku and enrolls approximately 16,000 students. Dr. Sarkarat has emailed an update of his experience at ASEU:)

To update you about my program, I have been teaching at the special talented department (Honors College) at the Azerbaijan State Economics University (ASEU), graduate and undergraduate courses in International Economics Relationship.
I am also serving on the Caucasus Research Resource Centers Fellowship Selection Committee. “The Caucasus Research Resource Centers program (CRRC) is a network of resource and training centers established in the capital cities of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia with the goal of strengthening social science research and public policy analysis in the South Caucasus. The Caucasus Research Resource Centers is a program of the Eurasia Foundation funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.” For more information, see ( http://www.crrc.az/index.php/en/17/54 ).
I have been also invited and will accept the invitation from IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board) to serve on the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program.
I am overwhelmed, but I enjoy extending my help, since there is a huge need for the western educating community on this part of the world.
I have been also working on small regional analysis/survey/research for ..........
