Employee of the Month for November
Congratulations to Judy McCullough, Administrative Secretary Senior, for WVU Parkersburg. Judy has been selected as Employee of the Month for November!
Judy started part-time for Wood County Schools (1/2 day) in December of 1999 and started January of 2000 part-time for WVU Parkersburg’s Technology Division. She was hired full-time in July, 2000.
Judy will be married 36 years in November to her husband Mark, who is a retired insurance agent and an assistant football coach at Parkersburg High school. They have two children. Marie, age 22, is married to an active duty Marine, Troy Gilbert. Troy is on active duty in Afghanistan and due to return home in November. Matthew, age 26, is married and is a Special Education teacher for Wood County Schools. He and his wife, Amanda, are expecting their first child in May.
Judy noted that she does not have very much free time between taking care of her three dogs, a cat, and going to football games.
Judy expressed her gratitude for being selected Employee of the Month by saying; “I enjoy working with both the college and high school students and faculty at the Caperton Center. My co-workers help make this a great place to work. Thanks to everyone for thinking of me.”
Following are excerpts from the nominations that served as the basis for Judy’s selection as Employee of the Month:
“I would like to nominate Judy McCullough as Employee of the Month. Judy has gone out of her way to work with faculty whose classes have had to be scheduled in the Caperton Center. Whatever the needs of the course or the instructor, she has found a way to meet them.”
“I am nominating Judy McCullough for Employee of the Month. The majority of you are unaware of Judy's contributions to WVUP since she works in the Caperton Center.
Judy has a unique role in working for WVUP and Wood County Board of Education. She provides excellent customer service to both sets of students. She also goes above and beyond in assisting faculty members from organizations, as well as staff and administrators that visit the Caperton Center. In addition, the Caperton Center hosts many events that bring off-campus guests. Judy makes everyone feel welcome with her smile, friendly nature, and enthusiasm.
Judy accepts all tasks in a positive manner and performs her duties with speed and accuracy. She is always willing to lighten the load of her co-workers by offering assistance. Thank you for your consideration.”
“I would like to nominate Judy as employee of the month. Judy works for both WVU-P (Technology Division) and Wood County Schools at the Caperton Center. She is the first contact person to students, faculty and others coming in from outside the college. She always greets them with a smile and is readily available to set up an appointment or direct them to whom it is they need to talk with. As she performs her duties as Administrative Secretary, she is very efficient and does her work in a pleasant and friendly manner.
Judy is very organized and thorough when asked to set up meetings or schedule rooms for classes, and other activities here in the Caperton Center building. Wood County high school students are one of her high priorities, due to the fact that they must be under supervision at all times, making sure whether they are in attendance or absent from class, their safety, assisting them with classes to be taken in their specific programs, etc.
As the Technology Division continues to grow in programs and is very busy in other areas, she pleasantly assists with the needs of faculty, staff and outside contacts. Judy truly does deserve to be selected as Employee of the Month for a job well done.”
The Employee of the Month program is sponsored by the WVU Parkersburg Staff Council. Nominations may be submitted
