Congratulations to Leslie Sims, Associate Registrar, for the WVU Parkersburg’s Records and Admissions Office. Leslie has been selected as Employee of the Month for November.
Leslie began working at her current position at WVU Parkersburg in the Records and Admissions Office on February 1, 2000. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Glenville State College and a Master's Degree from Ohio University.
Leslie has been an active member on many of WVU Parkersburg’s committees including, Graduation Committee, Honorary Degree Committee, Honors Council, and the WVU Parkersburg Relay for Life Team. Leslie is a past representative of Staff Council, and a member of the American Association of Registrars and Admissions Officers.
Leslie lives in Murphytown with her husband David, a fire fighter for the City of Parkersburg, and their daughter Mackenzie, who is in the 4th grade at Jefferson Elementary. They have two lab mix dogs, Angel and Toby, that they adopted from the Ritchie County Humane Society last year.
In her free time Leslie is active in her church and enjoys her daughter’s sports activities, including traveling with her soccer team. She also enjoys shopping, reading, scrap booking, and NASCAR.
Following are excerpts from the nominations that served as the basis for Leslie’s selection as Employee of the Month:
“ I would like to take this opportunity to nominate Leslie Sims, from the records office, for Employee of the Month. Leslie is one of those employees that is not always out front working where everyone can see all that she does.
Leslie is one of the most pleasant people to work with in the college. She is willing to work as hard, and as long as it takes to properly complete the job she is doing. Leslie also works with the college Relay for Life team, and again she always has a smile on her face no matter what she is working at.
I think Leslie is very deserving of the honor of Employee of the Month.”
Leslie expressed her gratitude for being selected the Employee of the Month and added “I am appreciative of being selected Employee of the Month at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.”
