December Employee of the Month 

Congratulations to Lauriel Edwards, Administrative Associate, for WVU Parkersburg’s Business and Economic Division.  Lauriel has been selected as Employee of the Month for December.

Lauriel began working at WVU Parkersburg in November, 1999 in the President/Dean of Student’s Office.  She has worked at her current position in the Business and Economic Division since October, 2001.    

Lauriel as served on many  committees at WVU Parkersburg.  She is a Staff Council representative as well as a member on a number of staff council sub-committees.

Lauriel lives in Parkersburg with her husband Clay, a recruiter for the WV Army National Guard, and their daughter Madison, who is 11 and in the 6^th grade at Martin Elementary school. 

In her free time Lauriel enjoys reading, shopping, and being a parent volunteer for her daughter’s cheerleading team. 

Following are excerpts from the nominations that served as the basis for Lauriel selection as Employee of the Month:

“I would like to nominate Lauriel Edwards for recognition as the staff employee of the month.  Lauriel continues to excel at her job.  She in my estimation is all around excellent at her job.  She goes well beyond her job duties in service to coworkers.  Some examples would include her covering the switchboard, working with the records office to assure scheduling would be entered on time and her assistance to Linda on her first attempt at entering the schedule of classes.

Lauriel always has time to help her coworkers and continually performs her job duties at an exemplary level. It is because of this that I take pride in nominating her for staff employee of the month.”
