Employee of the Month for June 2007

Congratulations to Garnet Crites, Administrative Secretary Sr.  Garnet has been selected as Employee of the Month for June.

Garnet has been a staff member at West Virginia University at Parkersburg for twenty-three years.  She came here in March, 1984, as a staff member in the Graphic Department.  She moved to the Natural Science and Mathematics Division in 1986 and has been serving in her present capacity since then.

Garnet and her husband, Rodney, live in Parkersburg.  They have one daughter, Melanie, who lives in New Jersey, a “baby” (Boston Terrier) Maggie, and a “granddog” Kiwi.

For pastime, Garnet enjoys sewing and pen and ink drawing.

Following are excerpts from the nominations that served as the basis for Garnet’s selection as Employee of the Month:

“I would like to nominate Garnet Crites of the Natural Science and Mathematics Division for Staff Employee of the Month.  I am a “rookie” adjunct instructor of Mathematics and have had a lot to learn about running an effective course.  Garnet has been very helpful in a variety of ways.  She is also very friendly and very efficient.  My job this semester would have been a good deal more difficult without Garnet’s help.  Thank you for the opportunity to nominate such a valuable staff member.”

The Employee of the Month program is sponsored by the WVU Parkersburg Staff Council.
Nominations may be submitted to Karen Branham in accordance with the
guidelines established by Staff Council.
