Employee of the Month for May, 2007

TOM DINNIN

Congratulations to Tom Dinnin, Maintenance Worker II, who has been selected as Employee of the Month for May!

Tom began working in the Custodial Department in 1975, and transferred to the Maintenance Department in 1995.    Tom has twice before had the honor of being selected West Virginia University at Parkersburg Employee of the Month.

Tom lives in Davisville with his wife Brenda.  They have two sons Adam and Joe.

In his spare time Tom enjoys taking walks and fishing.

Tom wishes to thank the campus community for his selection and said “I don’t think that I deserve this, I just do my job.”

Following is an excerpt from the nominations that served as the basis for Tom’s selection as Employee of the Month:

“I would like to take this opportunity to nominate Tom Dinnin, from the maintenance department, for Employee of the Month.  Tommy has been a familiar face around campus for over thirty years.  Tommy has painted more walls, changed more light bulbs and mopped more floors then anyone would believe.  He has done a lot of this while not feeling his best, yet you never hear him complain.  Tommy just smiles and keeps on working.  I can not think of anyone more deserving than Tommy Dinnin for the honor of Employee of the Month.  Thank you for your consideration.”

The Employee of the Month program is sponsored by the WVU Parkersburg Staff Council.  Nominations may be submitted to Karen Branham in accordance with the guidelines established by Staff Council.
