Relay
for Life. WVU Parkersburg's Relay for Life team invites
you to visit its raffle table outside the multi-purpose room today
and Thursday (4/25 and 4/26). There are baked goods and a
variety of prizes, including a $30 gift certificate to Texas
Roadhouse, a Fenton vase, a Longaberger basket, and pearl earrings. Drawing will be held Thursday (4/26/07);
proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Series Closes Season.
JIGU! Thunder
Drums of China will bring its vibrant and colorful roar to
campus on Wednesday (4-25) at 7 PM. Tickets are still available in
the business office. (WVU Parkersburg faculty and staff may purchase
special advance tickets for themselves and one guest for $5 each).
Making its US debut, this exuberant ensemble has thrilled and

Books for Africa.
Phi Theta Kappa will again be collecting textbooks for Africa at the
end of the semester. Many of our textbooks will not be eligible for
buy back because of the software changes. These books may be able to
be used in Africa. Please encourage your students to leave any books
that they cannot sell to the bookstore in the box outside of Violet
Mosser’s office or the box outside of the offices at JCC. Thank you.

Service Monday. WVU Parkersburg will hold a memorial
service Monday, April 23, in honor of the victims of the shooting
tragedy at Virginia Tech.

Adolescent
Substance Abuse. David Schaffer, Clinical Social Worker
and Addictions Counselor, will give a presentation on Monday, April 23,
from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 0133. He will be giving
information concerning adolescent substance abuse and associated
problems and treatments. Sponsored by Psychology 350 of the Social

Donations
Requested. The WVU Parkersburg Collegiate 4-H Club is
requesting donations of used or new luggage and new toiletries for
underprivileged children to use at summer camps. There will be a
table set up outside the library from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on

Meeting. WVU's Benefits' staff will be on campus April

Book Fair.
The Children's Room Book Fair was a great success and
sold over $1,130 of books. The profit from this amount will be used

Summer
Deferred Payment Program Meetings.
The Summer Deferred
Payment Program is a deferred payment benefit program offered to all
eligible WVU Parkersburg employees. The program focuses primarily
on the needs of employees with nine to 11 month contracts who wish
to spread their pay over 12 months. To learn more, plan to attend a

Visitor. David Briles will be on our campus April 24 at
10:45am in the theater. He appears in commercials on television
advising the audiences about the risks of tobacco. He is the
president of Central WV Lost Chords. Due to cancer, he had his

Health
Screening. The PEIA Health Screening will be held on April
24, 2007. Please call, use email, or stop in the Health and Wellness
Center to register. This year we have a pre-survey for "Stress Less,
Be Your Best" with a very nice incentive to participate in this
program. You must complete the pre-survey, do your required
paperwork and come to the Aerobics Room for the PEIA Health Screen
to receive your incentive. As the time draws closer, you will

Winner. Carol St. Peter is the Foundation’s April
winner of the Payroll Deduction Plan’s prize drawing. She has won
$30 in gift cards for Colombo’s Restaurant. Prizes valued at
over $155 have been given away during the past 5 months. As little
as a $1.00 deduction per pay period qualifies for inclusion in the
