Welcome to the Board of Governors website! WVU Parkersburg is a public institution of higher education, affiliated with West Virginia University, separately accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, and operated by the state of West Virginia. Local governance is provided by the WVU Parkersburg Board of Governors. Click here to view the Operating Procedures for the Board of Governors. WVU Parkersburg is under the jurisdiction of the WV Community and Technical College Council as part of the statewide network of independently accredited community and technical colleges. The WV Higher Education Policy Commission is charged with oversight of the public higher education institutions to ensure they are accomplishing their missions and implementing the provisions set by West Virginia statute. The Commission is responsible for developing, establishing, and overseeing the implementation of a public policy agenda for the state's higher education institutions.
