WVU Parkersburg
Office of Academic Affairs
Welcome to the West Virginia
University at Parkersburg's Academic Affairs website. Our goal is
to provide a site that demonstrates the connectedness of students
and faculty by providing links to resources that will serve the
important needs of both. Our student-centered approach guides all
practices within our academic framework. From the emphasis on
academic advising to our support for student co-curricular
activities, our faculty genuinely put the needs of students first.
The academic programs at WVU at
Parkersburg are multi-faceted, ranging from programs that lead to
9-15 credit hour skill-set certificates to four-year baccalaureate
degrees. All programs are approved by the Higher Learning
Commission and include specific learning outcomes that are tied to
workplace expectations. To keep our programs up-to-date, the
faculty regularly review the curriculum and meet with advisory
boards to ensure that content is relevant and responsive. Most
importantly, our faculty are expected to engage in professional
development activities within their disciplines to renew their areas
of expertise. We work hard to ensure quality , rigor, and high
expectations for both our students and our faculty.
