Twelve students have been selected for the 2018 Alpha Class of Leadership Fellows at West Virginia University at Parkersburg.

The Leadership Fellow program provides academic and financial support for students who display exceptional leadership potential. All members will receive extensive leadership training, partake and lead volunteer service, and engage with all members of the community as part of the process to prepare them for successful future careers.

To be considered for the program, applicants must earn a 3.0 high school GPA or have a letter of recommendation from their current employer, have a history of volunteering, and submit a letter of reference outlining their volunteer work.

Seventeen finalist were interviewed by Anthony Underwood, Vice President for Student Services. “The WVU Parkersburg Leadership Fellows Program will develop the Mid-Ohio Valley’s future leaders through community service, cooperative learning opportunities and real connections with local, regional and national leadership experts,” said Underwood. “The college is very excited by the real difference this will make in the lives of our students and their communities.”
